Your task

Use only ChatGPTAn AI chatbot from OpenAI. You describe what you want in a conversation; with connected tools, it can also take actions for you. or ClaudeAn AI chatbot from Anthropic. It can help write, plan, and use connected tools to build workflows from your instructions. to create and run a workflow that generates a short article from your topic and saves it as a WordPress.com draft. During the challenge, give every workflow instruction through your AI chatbot tool. Do not open the n8n editor or manually create, change, connect or run its nodes. Check WordPress.com to confirm that the draft was created.

Your bonus task

Ask your chatbot to generate one image, add the image as the article header, and publish the finished article on your WordPress.com blog.

Before you start

    Start with an n8n Cloud account or instance with MCP workflow-building access already enabled.

  2. 02

    Connect ChatGPT or Claude using the n8n MCP instructions. Your connection must allow creating, changing, and executing workflows.

  3. 03

    Have a WordPress.com blog connected through OAuth2 before starting. Complete the account authorization during setup.

  4. 04

    Sign up for OpenRouter, create an API key, and add it to an n8n OpenRouter credential. Ask your AI chatbot tool to use OpenRouter Chat Model for article generation.

  5. 05

    Have text-generation credentials ready in the connected instance; for the bonus, also have access to an image-generation service. Account connections are prerequisites: all workflow building and execution during this challenge happens through the chatbot.

What the workflow must do

  1. 01

    Create and run the workflow entirely through the AI chatbot, with no manual actions in the n8n web app.

  2. 02

    Generate an article from a topic and verify the resulting draft on WordPress.com.

  3. 03

    Bonus: publish the article with an AI-generated header image, and provide its public link.
