Your task
Challenge 18
Never Miss an Episode
Every morning, get one message listing which of your favourite shows air today and at what time where you live.
Your bonus task
Turn each of today's episodes into a calendar file you can open, so the episode lands in your own calendar with its real start and end time.
Example use cases
- Someone who follows four shows on four different channels and keeps missing the one that moved night.
- A family that wants one morning message instead of three streaming apps full of notifications.
- Any daily reminder built from a public catalogue – matches, concerts, rocket launches or release dates.
Before you start
- 01
Sign up for n8n Cloud or open your n8n workspace. No other account is needed.
- 02
The data comes from the free TVmaze API, which needs no key. Its data is licensed CC BY-SA, and show summaries contain HTML tags, so do not paste them straight into a message.
- 03
To receive the message, use ntfy.sh: pick a hard-to-guess topic name and open https://ntfy.sh/your-topic in a browser or install the ntfy app. No account is needed. A Telegram bot from challenge 2 works just as well.
- 04
Set the workflow's time zone in its Settings. Everything in this challenge depends on it being right.

What the workflow must do
- 01
The message lists only shows that have a new episode today, each with its season and episode number and the local start time, earliest first.
- 02
A show whose next episode is weeks away, or which has ended, never appears in the message.
- 03
The workflow is published and runs by itself every morning. Bonus: each of today's episodes also produces a calendar file with the correct start and end time.
